Kaitlin is originally from Kearney, Nebraska, and received her bachelor’s degree in Biological/Pre-Medical Illustration summa cum laude and with honors from Iowa State University in 2010. While in Iowa, she worked as an intern at iMed Studios, as an assistant in a lab researching medical ultrasound imaging techniques, and collaborated with biologists to produce illustrations for two separate field guides.
She received her master’s degree in Medical and Biological Illustration at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 2012, where she had the opportunity to collaborate with radiologists, research scientists, surgeons, biologists and anthropologists to produce medical illustrations, animations, and interactive media. Her thesis work was a digital facial approximation of a 3,000-year-old Egyptian mummy in collaboration with a Swiss mummy expert.
Presently, Kaitlin is employed by the Law Offices of Frank L. Branson in Dallas, Texas, producing medical illustrations for legal cases. She has been board-certified since 2013 and is a professional member of the Association of Medical Illustrators.
